Institute of Technology Tralee is committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for students, staff and visitors in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 2005 and associated regulations. In order to maintain health and safety standards, students are obliged to comply with certain rules, regulations and procedures as contained in the Student Handbook or as notified from time to time.
In general, students should espouse self-discipline and behaviour appropriate to a campus community of 3,500 students and 300 staff.
The Institute Safety Statement Safety Statement is available for reference. If you have any query in relation to hazards, risks or controls please raise these with your lecturer or head of department.
In the event of an incident or accident students should immediately notify a staff member and the Institute Nurse. In addition, you must complete an Accident/Incident Report Form available from the School Secretary or can be downloaded at the following link Accident Report Form and return it within one week of the accident.
Students are provided with personal accident insurance, which covers accidents while in the Institute. A number of staff are trained in First Aid. First Aid Kits are available throughout the Institute, including Security, the Health Centre and the Students' Union Office.
